Amid myriad scraps of found paper, spools of yarn, and reused watercolor stained earth balance containers Denise spends her days eclipsed by the sounds of Bill Monroe, Django Reinhardt, Robert Johnson, and Cannonball Adderley.

In all probability, Denise Ann Simon should have been born Sally Sue Simon. However, despite a romantic inclination the name never stuck. Raised on coffee and kibbeh naye, Denise spent her formative years casting a shadow over Detroit, Michigan. After the sun set she took up residence at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago 300 miles to the west.

An experiment into the psyche of the human condition prompted a sojourn into the 7-5 cubicle nightmare so many of us call work. Following the 4 year experiment Denise returned to her true passion of composing illustrations, letterpress, writing zines, and other forays into the creative process.
